very little experience or perhaps haven't decided what instrument they'd
like to pursue, my methodology provides a safe space to explore and discover
how you can enter into the world of music. This approach consists of a rounded
introduction to music with focus on rhythm, ear training and fun! For those
who are already proficient at an instrument I will help hone your skills
and challenge your creative limits. I am prepared to cover material such as
but not limited to: guitar, ukulele, piano, percussion, songwriting,
applied music theory, jamming, ear training, melody writing, lyrical workshopping, creativity
with tunings, etc.

SFCC World Drumming Ensemble is open to beginning, intermediate and advanced students with no prior expectation of drumming skills or music reading skills (although some background in both areas is helpful). This ensemble exposes participants to the music cultures outside of the North-American continent, including African, Brazilian, Cuban, Caribbean, and Afro-Cuban through drumming, singing and/or dancing heritages. Professional dancers often collaborate with this ensemble to augment the authentic experience of traditional and contemporary world musics. The college provides instruments for student use and a limited number of instruments may be checked out by enrolled students for practice at home.  Please enroll in MUSC 134 (currently under Jazz Combo heading) with Zyskowski as Instructor.  Call the SFCC Music Department at 509.533.3720 or e-mail Professor Zyskowski at MartyZ@spokanefalls.edu
