About the
Spokane Folklore Society ...

The Spokane Folklore Society was established in 1977 and is a non-profit organization run by volunteers; it is supported by membership dues, events admissions and donations.

Mission Statement: The purposes of the Spokane Folklore Society shall be to promote a broader community awareness of our cultural and folk traditions, such as music, dance and other folk arts through such social and educational events as concerts, dances, festivals, workshops, lectures, demonstrations and newsletters.

NEWSLETTER - The SFS newsletter is published monthly and is part of the membership subscription. Copy deadline is the 15th of the month. Articles are welcome; send them to our Newsletter Editor. If you have questions, contact the editor,  Editor@SpokaneFolklore.org. If you do not receive a newsletter after joining, please report it right away by calling (509) 598-9111..

SFS ANSWERPHONE - If you have questions, suggestions or need further information, please call our answer machine at (509) 598-9111. and leave a message. The messages are checked weekly. MEMBERSHIP - Spokane Folklore Society Memberships run from September to August of each year. Individual membership is $20,  and Household membership is $30.  A $5 discount is offered on each membership if you choose forego a paper newsletter (and receive it via email, instead).  We also very much appreciate Supporting ($60) and Contributing ($35) Memberships.  

To join the Spokane Folklore Society, please print out the pdf file at this page, fill out the application and send it, along with your check or money order (payable to Spokane Folklore Society),  to P.O. Box 141, Spokane WA 99210-0141.  Thanks – and welcome aboard!

MEMBERSHIP DIRECTORY - A membership directory with names and phone numbers will be published in January of each year and is available to members upon request. Please call (509) 598-9111., E-mail our Editor or send a mailed request to our Post Office Box.

ADVERTISING (in our monthly newsletter) is included as a free service for members only. We request a short ad of 2 to 3 lines or business card size. 

PERFORMERS / ARTISTS REFERRAL DIRECTORY - The SFS maintains a Directory of local folk performers, artists and instructors, as well as events such as music, jams and song circles. Please call us at (509) 598-9111. if you need a referral or would like to be added to the list. 

VOLUNTEERS - We are an all-volunteer organization. If you would like to help, please call the SFS Answer phone (509) 598-9111.. 

DISCOUNT / GROUP RATES - Members of the SFS and other Folklore Organizations receive discounts for all SFS events. Other Groups may request discounts in advance for a single event. Discounts are also available for a single event. Call (509) 598-9111. for information. 

DONATIONS - Quality concerts? Cultural and Educational Programs? You can help! Donations to the Spokane Folklore Society are tax deductible. Contributions can be mailed to the Spokane Folklore Society.
